Dr. Örjan Bodin is joint theme leader for the theme Adaptive governance, networks and learning. In his research on social-ecological systems (SES) he combines and integrate methods and theories from several different scientific disciplines. Bodin's main focus is to develop better understanding of SES through quantitative modeling and analyses.
Through collaboration with Prof. Hugh Possingham, Dr. Sahlin will be working on a framework to categorize decision problems, implementing and evaluating various aspects with decision theory in her current research funded through the Swedish research council.
I'll be in Brisbane for two weeks from the 15th, and in addition to working with Shaun and attending the beers on the ground-formerly-known-as-the-roof, I'd be very happy to chat more about some of my favourite scientific topics: invasive species, climate-driven range-shifts, data / theory integration. If there is a chance for me to give a talk I'd be happy to, I just got new results that I'm hoping to present at the American ESA this summer, about bird range shifts in Sweden. I can also talk more or less informally about the work done at CEC at Lund University - great interdisciplinary environment.
